I tend to get more rares in NM than HM, but they don't usually end up being max stats. :|

When will people stop spreading SUCH LIE?

Whatever you get in your instance DOESN'T AFFECT OTHER PEOPLE'S DROPS outside your instance.

The thing is it has never been denied by ANET. When ANET post an official denial stating that it does not take measures to reduce gold value in over farmed areas I will stop rotating my farm locations and stop searching for the least visited areas. Until that time I am going to keep doing what gives me the most gold for my time, which has worked out really well for me.

Now if I could just beat this addiction to z-keys and lock picks things would be better, until then happy farming (Unless you would rather grind titles, not for me).

Gaile has already posted an answer to such lie so many times already. The posts are quite old so I'm not sure if I can provide the link now. But the point is, IT'S NOT TRUE.

Believe whatever you want. If you think it works for you, fine. I believe I get more loots when I bring Razah with me too. So there.

EDIT: Thanks to Guru's robust searching system and big archive, here's the link to my post refering to Gaile's post from gwo. Gaile also posted some more responses on these threads too. See for yourself.

Too bad the post over at GWO is gone. But Gaile's posts on the first thread should be enough.

A title is not meant to be gained in a day or even a month and some even YEARS. The game requires longevity achievements to keep players playing. The carrot in front of the horse goes along with these titles. I'm happy/lucky if I get 1 rare per run of a hard mode zone. But, sometimes I get FOUR in a run. I personally think buying unids defeats the purpose of the title grind. How much will you spend before you ever seen gain out of the max title advantage? vs How much will you lose over time? I don't see a loss over time just adventuring for them because you gain gold everytime you go play. Eventually when you're old and gray you'll have that max title and then can start to gain all the added bonuses it will give you when you salvage something. <grin>

I just can't get over these people that think titles should come easy and be done an over with in a day or a week. Remember titles aren't necessary they are a nicety and therefore are setup differently from the usual humdrum of the game adventure and exploring that can be finished in a day or a week. The really good players can finish any chapter in a couple of days or week maximum. Thus, titles are there if they want something else to achieve and are willing to put the time into it.

Spending many hours on playing a character all the way through GW:EN (no dungeons but including all sidequests that give PvE skills): 3 rares.

Farming vaettirs for 30 minutes: 9 rares.

One thing that's bothering me about this, is that it's really discouraging me from PLAYING the FRIGGING GAME if I want to get anywhere on my wisdom title, other than cleaning out a select few mobs over and over again.

I understand some titles need some effort, but a reward difference of factor 20 between two styles of playing is just too steep.

That's the problem of grinding in GW in general.

I don't know why. But to me it seems like Anet thinks that grinding in GW is kinda optional, so the devs don't even bother making them FUN. If you want to grind in GW, be prepared for a long tedious moment that will not even be rewarding in the end.

Other games (where the grind is kinda the main gameplay) tend to make sure that YOU HAVE FUN while grinding, and that extends to every single kind of grind (optional or otherwise). I wish Anet had done the same thing too...
